Nebraska's Best Utility Locators Put Their Skills to the Test at the 2026 Nebraska Locate Rodeo

On July 21, 2026, utility locators from across Nebraska gathered at Southeast Community College in Lincoln for the 2026 Nebraska Locate Rodeo. The event brought together professionals from municipalities, utility companies, contractors, and private locating firms for a day focused on improving locating skills, sharing best practices, and recognizing the importance of damage prevention across the state.

The Locate Rodeo challenged participants with a real-world locating scenario that tested their ability to accurately identify and mark underground utilities while demonstrating proper techniques, efficiency. Events like these help reinforce the critical role utility locators play in protecting underground infrastructure, preventing damages, and keeping excavation projects safe.

After a competitive day of locating, the top three finishers were:
