The 8200SG is equipped with a specially designed survey-grade GNSS/RTK antenna, enabling RTK positioning. In contrast, the 8200G includes a standard internal GPS for mapping and logging purposes. This difference allows the SG to attain much higher absolute position accuracy, faster and more reliable fixes, and compatibility with correction services.

True survey-grade GNSS + RTK support

The RD8200SG features a built-in survey-grade GNSS antenna with RTK correction capabilities, allowing for sub-inch to centimeter-level accuracy in utility mapping.

Integrated “locate + map” workflow

You can find buried utilities AND map their exact location at the same time in a single pass, instead of performing a locate now and a separate GPS survey afterward.

No tilt required

You don't need to tilt or manually compensate when capturing points. The SG automatically handles the offset between its GNSS antenna and the ground.

Direct Bluetooth connectivity for data transfer

The SG incorporates Bluetooth modules, enabling coordinate and location data to be directly paired with a phone or tablet and transferred to mapping software almost in real-time.

Full locator functionality + advanced mapping — in one device

SG maintains all the EM locating features, including multi-frequency location, depth detection, and sonde support, while integrating an accurate GNSS and mapping system. This effectively merges two tools (a locator and survey-grade GPS) into one.

Phone mount
